Presentations

Listen to what screenwriting guru Robert McKee says about PowerPoint presentations, and why the key to persuasion is powerful creative writing - not better bullet points.

(The best line in Robert McKee’s video comes right at the end, so it’s worth watching the brief clip all the way through.)

PowerPoint can be a helpful backdrop to a well-crafted presentation, if it is used dynamically to complement the STORY, and not just to deliver dry bullet points.

But I’m sure you’ll agree that the traditional (and ubiquitous!) use of PowerPoint presentations has lost its power to persuade - if it ever had it in the first place.

My approach to creating a presentation for my clients follows McKee’s advice - discovering the client’s most compelling story and crafting it into a fresh, engaging and - most importantly - persuasive presentation.
